Polish Citizenship by Presidential Grant – A Unique Path, But Never a Guaranteed One
For people who do not qualify for Polish citizenship by descent, there is another legal pathway to becoming a Polish citizen: citizenship granted by the President of the Republic of Poland. Unlike administrative proceedings, where meeting the legal requirements usually leads to a positive decision, a Presidential Grant is an exclusive constitutional prerogative of the President of Poland. The President is not required to justify the decision and has complete discretion to approve or refuse any application.
